Short Biography

GEORG CHMIEL has over 25 years of distinctive experience in high growth businesses, especially in the real estate and online industry. Georg has built significant expertise on a global scale in strategy, innovative, disruptive technologies and corporate finance. He was instrumental in creating 3 unicorns during his career until today and has significantly grown shareholder value for all companies he was involved in.

Georg is the Chairman of Juwai-IQI Holdings, one of the largest proptech groups in Asia with more than 23,000 sales agents. He is also Chairman of iCarAsia (ASX:ICQ), the number 1 online automotive marketplace for SE Asia. In addition, he is non-executive Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF), a leading wealth management network across Australia, the Prop Tech Group (ASX:PTG), the leading proptech software group operating across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Indonesia, and BUTN (ASX:BTN) a B2B fintech business in Australia and New Zealand. He is on the Advisory Board of National Property Data in Australia and the Founder and Managing Director of Chmiel Global Advisory Sdn Bhd (CGA), a boutique consulting firm focused on high growth businesses.

Georg was previously Managing Director / CEO of the iProperty Group (ASX:IPP) until its sale to REA Group in the biggest takeover of an online business in SE Asia at that point in time, non-executive Director of Mitula Group (ASX:MUA) and Managing Director / CEO of LJ Hooker Group with 700 offices across ten countries. Georg also held the position of CFO at REA Group (ASX:REA) for 6 years which is now Australia’s most valuable media and advertising company. In his earlier years, Georg worked for KPMG, Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company.

Georg is the 2021 recipient of the Impact Lifetime Achievement Award for Property Excellence, winner of the C-Suite Leadership Excellence Award in 2020, the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award in 2016 and the Top Outstanding Leaders Asia Award in 2015. He has been a regular speaker and guest lecturer for disruptive technologies, AI and big data and entrepreneurship at the University of St. Gallen (USG), the Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM).

Georg is CPA (USA), Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM) and a Member of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC). Georg holds an MBA (INSEAD, France) and a Computer Science degree (Technische Universität München, Germany).
